Frequently Asked Questions
IS ROOT CANAL TREATMENT PAINFUL?
Decades ago that may have been the case, but with modern technology and anesthetics you won’t experience any more pain than if you went to have a cavity filled. The pain from a severe toothache, often caused by damaged tissues in the tooth, can be easily remedied by removing the damaged tissue through root canal treatment. In addition, we are experts in pain management and most cases can be treated quickly and comfortably.
WILL I BE ABLE TO DRIVE MYSELF TO AND FROM MY APPOINTMENT?
Yes, we use local anesthesia during our treatment and you will be able to drive yourself back. And since it is not general anesthesia, there is no need to fast prior to your appointment. In fact, we encourage having your regular meal prior to your appointment.
HOW MANY VISITS ARE NEEDED FOR TREATMENT?
Most of the endodontic treatment is completed in a single visit. However, some cases that involve certain infections require two visits in order to properly medicate the tooth and achieve better healing.
